Solutions Architect

Job Description

The purpose of the Infrastructure Solution Architect role is to provide technical architecture support  to assist in the delivery of project artefacts to support the project delivery framework, ensuring the  IT solutions are designed and implemented according to the business and technical requirements  and aligned to the Stakeholder needs and Project's strategic objectives.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Technical and Solution Architecture background essential.
• Excellent documentation skills in drafting solution design documents, interface diagrams &  architecture documents.
• Ability to translate business requirements into user specifications & build solution building  blocks.
• Ability to negotiate with business acumen relating to technical issues and queries
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Background in operating & supporting large‐scale mission‐critical server, storage and network  environments.
• Wide exposure to different hardware, operating systems, and network platforms.
• Process‐oriented service delivery mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
• Healthcare / Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences sector experience –preferred
• Industry related qualification ‐Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or  equivalent ‐ITIL v3 ‐TOGAF 9 ‐ Additional industry Certifications.

Requirements:

• Creating strategies, target state architectures and standards for infrastructure, preferably  having experience in Healthcare/Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences sector
• Scoping, designing and costing infrastructure solutions for business cases
• Creating high level infrastructure designs for COTS, bespoke and green‐fields enterprise  systems Creating high level plans and designs for new initiatives, technology uplifts and platform  migrations  
• Providing architectural and design leadership during project delivery
• Experience with conducting Cost/Benefit Analysis for technical solutions 
• Participate in project business and technical requirements specification gathering exercises  including functional and non‐functional
• Experienced in working under regulatory frameworks and GxP standards
• Experience in designing infrastructure solutions for regulated applications
• Deep understanding of networking and segmentation principles
• Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring
• Design for High Availability and Fault Tolerance
• Understand Identity and access management principles
  • Hyper‐Converged Infrastructure
  • Software Defined Data Center
  • Open Networking
  • Infrastructure automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.
  • WinTel Infrastructure Stack
  • Network/Application Security tools and products
  • Public Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Exposure & Understanding of IT Infrastructure concepts such as
• Experienced with Agile, ITIL, security, audit, compliance• Perform other duties as needed

Accountability:

• Confirms requirements traceability against ‘as built’ design and implementation
• Conduct Business Analysis
• Communicates with and engages appropriate IT organizations to ensure strategic technology  alignment and application solution alignment
• Adopt and communicate new concepts, ideas, techniques and best practices
• Work using Enterprise Architecture principles and Vendor Management to establish required  infrastructures and frameworks
• Provide conceptual architecture to be used in guiding solution design
• Provide bill of materials requirements for projects that meet IT standards and policies
• Verifies implementation details as part of ‘as built’ documentation to guide production  readiness, production operation and disaster recovery
• Support proof of concepts as needed
